Havana Nights Auction FAQ

Every St. Nicholas parent can participate in the auction and every contribution matters!
  • Donate auction items and experiences or host auction parties

  • Attend as a guest and bid/buy on items and parties!

  • Work the event and help create a memorable night for our largest fundraiser

The Auction is our LARGEST  fundraiser of the year.

It has different ‘channels’ that parents help create; both by donating into the event and buying items at the auction.

  • Parties ~ large and small families, friends come together to create fun, memorable events for the auction. Goal is to provide a little bit of something for each age range and create moments to come together as a community!

    • Younger families or families new to St. Nicholas are encouraged to attend and get to know folks; we’d love your enthusiasm if you would like to gather a group and host! See below for more info!

  • Donations ~ St. Nicholas depends on donations from families and local vendors to create our auction packages and experiences. We’ve got a small team that polls local vendors however - parents are our best resource for exciting and interesting offerings; we’ve had Waymo car rides, fantastic vacation get aways, hosted dinners with wonderful entertainment, and many more.

Please consider your valuable connections in the community!  Do you frequent a restaurant often? Do you work somewhere that has cool impacts or experiences to share? Vacation homes or timeshares, sports or theatre tickets ~ all of these are great ideas for parent donations!   Have something to donate or know a merchant who can donate something?  Find out more!

  • Class Contributions ~ The Collective: the class gets together and develops an aggregate gift to contribute into the auction. Many times it begins with an anchor donation from a class family and grows around it. Families will be asked to donate $ or items into the Class Collective. The Collective is managed by a class volunteer and works under the Class Collective Chair.

  • Class Contributions ~ The Creative: the class ‘creates’ a special items. Families can bid on and purchase the individual creations at the auction OR, if it’s a single piece; bid AGAINST each other to take the creation home.

  • Faculty Contributions ~ contributed by administrative or faculty for student FUN!

The Auction is held at different locations annually; this year’s location is the Palo Alto Hills Country Club, Palo Alto.

The location is important, but what’s more important is bringing our community together for a nite of fun!

St. Nicholas Auction is a Spring Quarter Event ~ often in March.
  • The 2018-2019 school auction is March 2, 2019. Fun kicks off at 6pm.

There is no greater opportunity to support the school and build connections with friends and community members!

It’s great fun to collaborate and bring packages, parties, and exciting events together to bid on. It’s even more fun to share a meal, a glass of wine dance AND sign up for parties or win auction items.
